Another check off the Lifetime "to do" list

Ok, I did it, another "check" off my Lifetime "to do" List!!
I decided that I was going to be the one to make Cason's Toddler Bed Quilt. So after a little shopping trip with Gma Rojean to Joann's Fabrics one Saturday morning, here the the fabric I chose- all flannels. (It had to match the color scheme of the current room colors so I would have to change the curtains or paint, etc.
Then, after an evening of cutting (shared by gma and myself), this is what I spent over an hour laying out in my living room floor to make sure all the squares we evening distributed. **yes, my son was asleep the whole time**
Then, the next afternoon, I spent Cason's naptime doing a little sewing of squares. *2 1/2 hrs = 12 squares done.

I then spent WWW (westfahl womens weekend) this past saturday/sunday, finishing it. It is after all the squares we done, and trimmed to 10'', then laid out to get blocks distributed evenly again.

After about 9 hrs of working working working, I had the front done and headed home for that night.

The next afternoon, I spent another 2 hours or so finishing it with the backing and a little hand stitching too. And he is loving it!! (and mommy feels like she accomplished something else she always wanted too)
**in this pic, we folded it over so you could see the backing (brown skulls and red strip)**

CRAZY WOMAN!

This is what I keep telling myself this week.

My bestie- sis-n-law text me on Friday, "running Dallas". Ok we now I am doing the Dallas Rock n Roll Susan B Komen 1/2 Marathon on March 14.

Keep in mind that I have already signed up for the April OKC Memorial 1/2 marathon. (thus 6 weeks apart from eachother)

So my method to my craziness these next few weeks, "just keep running, just keep running, just keep running running running..." (a little play on words with Disney's Nemo)

So my prayers for this week also have a request... SEND ME SOME COMMENTS! ENCOURAGEMENT!! CRAZINESS!! WHATEVER IT MAY BE!!
thank you :0)

Something a little happier

This saturday, I felt the need to "CEASE TO MOMENT!", "CARPE DIAM!", etc. So we took the kids to eat at Hooters (aka laid back with tvs), then we played for an entire hour in "Imagine that Toys" and when it was time to leave, they both left happy and willingly. (They were told me were not buying today) We then went to Famous Footwear, to which we finally found Madi's new shoes she has been dying for, and on sale! They are SO 1980s and look a lot my what mommy used to wear back in those days. SHE LOVES THEM! (to the point of wanting to sleep with them, mommy said "no" at that point) Cason walked out with new shoes too, Lightening McQueens and they have light up wheels on the sides. (daddy found these, they were cheap, so mommy said -"sure, why not, whatever!") **Note, mommy doesnt like purchasing "themed/character" clothing/shoes items.**

We then went to Towne East Mall to the candy store, and a little window shopping. (aka build-a-bear, again not purchasing toys that day.) Then we headed home. All in all, it was a fun day.

prayer request

I needed to blog this week, but I didn't plan on having it be so saddening.
Early this morning, one of my extended Cousins, Josh Thiessen, was in an ATV accident. He is now starting his life on God's hand. He left behind a wife, Traci, who is also pregnant with Twins and due this spring. I ask that everyone keep Traci, their unborn kids, their entire family in your prayers. Josh was my age.
Thank you.
