Dancing Madison (& Cason)

Miss Madison asked Santa for an MP3 this year. How fun will it be on Christmas when this is happening all over the house and not just in her room. ENJOY!!!

Our Annual Family Christmas night!

Every year, even before the kiddos, we take night out to purchase our annual family ornament, do a little shopping, have a fun dinner, and enjoy the time together. Since we had kiddos, santa has been on that list on too. So, first thing we did on our family night last night was to see Santa. Madison made sure to ask Santa for a MP3 and a tricycle for her little brother Cason. Then they got their picture taken.
We purchased our family ornament ( a red sled with 4 people in it and it says Horton's 2009), Madison's yearly ornament (a wreath with a horse head in the middle and it says Madi 2009), and Cason's got his (a green tractor that says Cason 2009).
We then purchased on last christmas gift, and had dinner at the mall food court. Madison was dying for a cinnamon sugar pretzel.
We also drove the "lights on st paul" and enjoyed that as well.

Hope everyone has something special they do as a family this season!!

just keep going...

Ok, Thanksgiving pre-weekend.
My cousin Julie and I went to KC for a day, and did our first 1/2 marathon. I didn't do my best, but after the first mile or so, julie died, and I didnt want to leave her behind. Thus-- I made her speed walk with me. (I did pull away from her in the last couple miles though.) I came in at 3:23:16. Not bad, but I KNOW I could have done atleast a half hour better. So, in April, I am doing a half marathon in OKC with my bestie(thanks for the word Shana) Liz and maybe by sis-in-law and her hubby. WHOTWHOT!

Thanksgiving was "interesting" as usual. Always so much happening. One good thing from the weekend, my cousin Brandi is engaged. WHOTWHOT!

Sorry no pics to share this time!!

"If found on ground, please drag across finish line"

If the title doesn't explain, then let me clarify. I am OFFICIALLY registered for the 2009 Kansas City Gobbler Grind 1/2 Marathon!! OMG!! WHAT AM I THINKING?!

Ok- I am thinking that my cousin, Julie, wants a partner to join her on this run.
Also- I am thinking that I want to do more than a 10K before the year is out.
Finally- I can so do this!!

Back to reality---
First- I can so NOT do this!!
Second- What was I thinking?!
Third- Why didn't I get more training in?!
Fourth- I am going to die!
Fifth- I am SO NOT READY!
Sixth- "If found on ground, please drag across finish line" (this is a shirt I need to purchase to cover the fact that, I AM GOING TO DIE!
Seventh- **Taking deep breaths
Eight- ............

Ok, I do want to be in GREAT SHAPE for the 10 year class reunion this coming year. AND I DO want to be the type of mom that can wear this shirt "One Bad Mother Runner"
(COUGH COUGH...Shana... my fav sis-in-law) AND my softball girls are going to be needing me to be in tip-top shape to kick their young teenage tushes into gear!

But I am still lacking motivation somehow.

AWH!!!! I need a FREE personal trainer to kick my ass into gear. Someone to yell at me, and get me going!

Daddy & kids day

Mommy went to Wichita with Grandma Rojean and her cousin Brandi for the day. So it was daddy fun day. They went to gma Pennys and carved their pumpkins. Daddy dressed them all for the day too. SO CUTE!!

This one is Madison's.

This one is Cason's. (puking pumpkin- LOL!)

This is the dress that Madi replaced a couple too small birthday gifts for at Von Maur. She also got a "hope" graphic tee shirt and a set of sparkly bracelets. She was all about wearing her new dress to church the next morning.

Madison's 5th Birthday Cake!!!!

Brenda in North Newton NEVER disappoints!!! She is so amazing!!! Whatever you ask for, she will do and in any delicious flavor you want. 11 1/2 months ago, Miss Madi requested a strawberry Hannah Montana Guitar Cake. And here it is!! And was so awesome and soooo good!!! And her pricing is great too!!!! You won't find her in the yellow pages, she is a word of mouth baker!! Just ask and I will pass you the info. She also does amazing wedding cakes too!! My cousin had her make a HUGE airplane with moving parts for their grooms cake a few years back. Like I said, she is AMAZING!!!!!

Cason's New Ride

It is Crazy what comes to a parents mind when trying to entertain a child while dinner finishes cooking. Apparently Cody was having a "good imagination" day. LOL!!

And Cason LOVED IT!! If you use sound, you can hear all his laughter, and excitement. :)

Fall Pictures of 2009

Sibling together, "FUN FUN TIMES"
Madi had her day to "shine" so to speak. :)

And did she ever "shine" ...

... what happened to my baby girl?!

She is such "herself" now.

Today we had Madison's 5 year portraits taken. Isn's she still a doll?!

And quite the growing "big" girl as well!!

Like last year, we did a family portrait as well.

And the photographer decided on a "mommy & daddy" portrait as well.

Madison's 1st riding lesson!

Madison, Ms Maggie and Belle (the pony)

For Madison's 5th bday gift, Gma Penny gave her riding lessons. They are every Monday morning for a while. Her first lesson was today. Daddy got to go along, and he sent me this photo! Looks like starting her out on pony's was a GREAT IDEA! Slight horse fear as left the building!!!! Looks like this is going to be a good time for our growing girl! Now next time we go to see Papa Bill & Gma Jennifer, I bet she will jump on Foxy and not run away. :)

Kansas State Fair 2009

Well, we were at the fair, on this BEAUTIUL weather day! Madison requested "her own" roasted corn on the cob for her lunch. She allowed mommy one bite and then she finished that sucker off!!! LOL!!
The rest of us had our share of fair goodies!! YUMMY!!!
We attended the KS State Fair with mom, dad and drew this year. Madi asked to do this high jumper, and afte 45 mins of waiting, she got her 2 1/2 mins in. She loved it!!!

This was the train ride we went on too.

Madi got a good share of rides in while everyone else watched, Poor cason :(

KSU vs UMass Game in Manhattan!!

Open game fireworks and team run out!!! GO CATS!!!

Willie the Wildcat right in front of us! Where are the kids when we needed them? Oh, right, at home so mommy and daddy could have a fun day :)

Cody & I in the Family Reunion Tent

Liz and I in her 3rd row seats!!

Cody and I were blessed enough to get to attend the KSU vs UMass game in Manhattan on Sept 5th. Cody's brother, Troy, was a past Alumni Football Player and they had a "Family Reunion" Day. So he was given a few tickets to bring people along. So Cody was invited along with Shana & Kaete to attend with him. Brian & Jace have season tickets, and I was lucky enough to get to go with Liz on her season tickets. We had a blast!! I only wish we could afford season tickets ourselves. Maybe someday soon in the future.....

Iowa Part 4

They had a bad storm in Iowa a few weeks back, this is why Cody was going up to help re-side the house. They had baseball to as big a softball size hail in their area, and it was being pushed by 104mph winds. This is what is left of a bean field down the road.
