Vent some steam

So, what first....

Mother Nature!  SisterRunner/Coach Horton is NOT happy about this weather you have decided to dish out. SisterRunner (aka myself- for those of you that read my sis-n-laws blog) is getting frustrated with your teasing. Inside running weather, Outside running weather, 70 degress, SNOW, 70 degrees, RAIN! AWHAWHAWHAWH!!!! Coach Horton (aka myself- for those USD 373 people out there) is sick and tired of being stuck inside for a combined total so far of 7 days! That is out of 16 total days we have had of practice so far!! Our first game is TUESDAY!!! My girls aren't ready!! We need outside time to really work it all out!! HELPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!

People I know (left for interpretation??)!  Listen to me. Don't yell at me, or contradict me, or talk down to me, or whatever else you know you are doing! I am a responsible, trustworthy, knowledgable adult. Please treat me like an equal, when you know I am one! I have a voice, I have suggestions, I have an opinion, you need to LISTEN to me. If you dont agree, that is something we can work on AFTER you have heard me. And in an approriate venue.

SisterRunner/Coach Horton (aka myself)!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! I WORK YOU HARD! I WORK YOU LONG! I FEED YOU RIGHT! (minus the optional treat so often) AND WHAT DO YOU DO FOR ME? NOTHING!!! I HAVE A REUNION IN OCTOBER!! I NEED YOU IN TIP TOP (MINUS 50+ LBS) SHAPE!!! COME ON AND SHOW ME THE LOVE!!!!!

ROCKIN' IN DALLAS!!!!

The "me" I want to be after finishing my 2nd 1/2 marathon (Dallas Rock N Roll) coming in at 2:51:49. (cutting 32 minutes from 1st try)

This is what the Future Bad Mother Runner Wore. (forgot to add the 2 Gu's)
This was the sight 20ish miles south of Norman Oklahoma. 14 miles of this taking us 1 hour to deal with and some major freak outs and a couple phone calls to make sure we would NOT be missing out on our packet pick ups.
This is my niece, who had a great trip tagging along. (NOTICE THE SUN!!!)
Thanks to my brother in law that was our "hotel de Troy". (awhh, I totally hit gold with these sibs-in-laws!)
This is the sight from the sunroof of Kim's car with 20 mins or less until the "so called" last bus from the finish line to the start line. (can we say.....shit. so much for getting around early)
These are my travel buddies (because we all know that I will not be running anywhere near them) happy to be on the shuttle bus and heading to the start line. (there are 20 mins to start now)
START LINE!! Ohh how you are 30 minutes away from my corral and under 10 minutes from my travel buddies. (maybe if we look really close, you will see them..... hummmm, nope)
Here is what I did see......... LOL!

We are moving forward....
Hey, i had a few great gals around me... thanks!!!
Somewhere around mile 9 (i had a goofy bust at this time)
Last mile!! Just keep running, just keep running, just keep running, well come one.... MOVE!!
ROCK OUT DALLAS!! I FINISHED!! (then proceeded to have a little wheezing attack-thats new-, slowly made my way to my metal, my picture, my water, energy drink, banana, energy bar, brownie (yucky, spit it out), bagel, oranges(so excited to shove in mouth that I dropped the first one), pull cell out of butt crack pocket, call shana- heard very loud male yell "KIRSTEN!!!", look up to see brother in law waving to me. Nod back (because we know that is all I am possibly able to do) keep walking down exit, keep walking, keep walking, text in laws that i am going keep walking to get packet with sandals and extra teeshirt. Call cody, well, you get this idea.

So, I did great, I am tired, I already having thoughts of how to get better for April OKC marathon.

So run on friends!!

A little food for thought....

Wednesday at Newton High School was SADD "death" Day. (For those of you that recall SADD in our day, it stood for Students Against Drunk Driving, however a year or 2 ago, it was changed to Students Against Distructive Decisions-- good move, I do believe)

Anyhow, when I got to Practice that afternoon (btw- this is my second year assistant coaching NHS softball), one of my girls was painted up. She was one of the "dead" students. They are to go through the day as a normal day, HOWEVER they are not allowed to speak or respond in any way to anyone. This is to help kids get the feeling of what it would be like if one of their friends or classmates was gone. I find it to be a very strong point, and hope it helps kids.

In Staci's case, she was excited and proud of herself for not making a peep all day. LOL! So I snapped a couple shots of her for this blog, in hopes to pass the information on to other families.

Ok people, it is fixed!!

I have now fixed the blog to allow comments on any and all postings!! Enjoy leaving me little tid bits of you lives!!!

Today, Madi is at popa Mather's with a slight temp and a headache/body aches. Cason was sent home from daycare with a classroom outbreak of Foot, Mouth and Hand viral disease. Cody is feeling better and I am going CRAZY!!

Work, practice (this morning and this afternoon), senior exit interviews and hummmm dinner may be missed tonight.

I was informed that my "limo" is leaving at 8:30am on Saturday to head to Dallas for the Rock n Roll 1/2 marathon on Sunday morning. (I need to check the weather and make sure all my favs are clean for packing)

ok, thats is all for the moment.

OHH -- a shout out to the Wilson's family that was hit by a massively LARGE TeePee tornado last night. LOL!!!

What! Where! Who! Huh?! Left? Right? WHAT?

Ok, life has been INSANE!
(example above-- mommy's theory, little man is to crawl through tunnel.
Cason's theory, "look mommy, i can do that too. HI!!")

Softball started, missed mom2mom this week (totally blow my mind, mainly since I didn't have "pick her Shana" in the back of my mind), Dallas run is a week from sunday (still dont feel ready- but will be bucking it up anyway), Cody is doing great in school, kids are funnier than ever. I just feel like breathing is by "Option only" right now.
